Joanne Beaver, 68
Joanne R. Beaver, age 68, of Buffalo, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at her home under the care of hospice and her family knowing she was deeply loved.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township, rural Annandale, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Rob Jarvis will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Buffalo. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Joanne Ruth Beaver was born January 25, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Richard Tolan and Ruth Bosworth. As a young girl, Joanne’s mother, Ruth, married William Carroll, who then adopted Joanne. She grew up in Minneapolis, where she graduated from North High School in 1971. On February 5, 1982, Joanne was united in marriage to Gregory Beaver, in Oak Harbor, Washington. The couple made their home, along with their two daughters, across the United States, depending on where Greg was stationed. Washington, California, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, and back to Minnesota, were all home to the family over the years. Joanne always worked hard to make their house a home, and she relished in her role as a military wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed antiquing, crafts, baking and cooking, with her homemade soups being some of the family favorites. Joanne loved the Lord and over the years was an active member of different congregations. Joanne cherished the time she was able to spend with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 39 years, Greg of Buffalo; daughters, Kristen (David) Barstow, of Plymouth, and Erica (Adam) Willprecht, of Annandale; five adoring grandchildren, Carter, Trinity, Jeremiah, Troy, and Matthew; sisters, Kathy Elliott, of Las Vegas, Jane (Mark) Dorfner, of Illinois, and Brenda (Steve) Jagmohan, of Florida; and nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and William Carroll, and Richard Tolan; and her grandparents, Ira and Florence Bosworth.
Joanne’s grandsons, Carter, Troy, Jeremiah, and Matthew will serve as urn bearers, with Joanne’s granddaughter, Trinity, serving as honorary urn bearer.

Adrian Boisclair, 90
Adrian Richard “Dick” Boisclair, age 90, of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was born in Minneapolis on October 7, 1931, the son of Armand and Aline (Bouthilette) Boisclair.
Adrian graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1949. He graduated from the College of St. Thomas, and proudly served in the US Air Force.
On October 3, 1959, Adrian Boisclair and Joanne Sobczyk were united in Holy Matrimony at All Saints Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They were blessed with four sons, Paul, Dan, David, and Gary.
Adrian worked 18 years with Audio King and then 18 years as owner of Casual Living in Edina. In September 1992, Adrian Boisclair was ordained as a Deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. He served the parishes of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo and St. Henry Catholic Church in Monticello; he led prayer services at local nursing homes, served in Prison Ministry and visited with inmates. His ministry of compassion brought enormous comfort to many people.
In the 1960s, he was part of Urban Renewal planning in Minneapolis. He was a member of the Monticello Knights of Columbus, Buffalo Lions Club, Serra Club, and Cursillo. He enjoyed working with his hands, always wanting to build something new for his home. He had a great attention to detail when it came to woodworking, and within his ministry.
Adrian was a man of prayer and of great faith in his Savior. He blessed his family and friends by his warmth and generosity.
He always appreciated a good hug. He will be dearly missed by many!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Aline Boisclair; siblings, Joe (Helen) Boisclair, Larry Boisclair, Corinne (Jerry) Scharff, Bob Boisclair; and grandchildren, Noah and Sabrina.
Adrian is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joanne Boisclair; sons, Paul (Kelly) Boisclair, Dan (Nadene) Boisclair, David Boisclair, Gary (Patricia) Boisclair; grandchildren, Lindsay (Zach), Landon (Christine), Cameron, Peter, Matthew, Jonah, Theodore, Raphaela, Louis; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Dominic, Vincent, Evan; sisters, Dolores (Bill) Watson, Mary Lou (Tom) Cunningham; sister-in-law, Lori Boisclair; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M., at St. Henry Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 1001 E 7th St, Monticello, MN. Burial with Military Rites at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in Monticello.
All in attendance for the visitation and Mass are pleased asked to wear a mask.

Daniel Borrell, 82
Daniel Joseph Borrell, age 82, of Waverly, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family, on December 31, 2021. He was born on June 26, 1939, to Joseph and Emily (Coyea) Borrell on the family farm in Waverly, Minnesota.
Dan graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Waverly and attended St. Cloud State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Following his schooling, Dan served in the United States Air Force, where he was honorably discharged.
Dan was united in marriage to Marie Zimmerman on May 28, 1960, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. To this union, three children were blessed. In 1990, Marie passed away. On July 3, 1993, Dan was united in marriage to Mary Jane Forbes in St. Peter, Minnesota. They made their home in Waverly.
Dan began his career in education, then progressed into the insurance bond underwriting field, eventually working his way into owning his own firm in 1984.
Dan was involved in his community, giving his time and efforts to a plethora of programs. He was an active member of St. Mary’s parish, the ELKS, and coaching. He was an integral part of many community projects and various sports programs, all the way up until his passing. Dan’s interests included fast cars, Farmall tractors, and history.
Dan was preceded in death by his wives, Marie in 1990, and Mary Jane in 2018; brothers, Donald (Marcella) Borrell, Marion Borrell; sister, Luella (John) Jandro.
He is survived by his children, Joe (Barb) Borrell, Bryan (Penny) Borrell, and Ann (Rob) Geurink; grandchildren, Justin (Brooke) Borrell, Kyle (Sarah) Borrell, Braden (Kaitlin) Borrell, Jimmy Borrell, Patty (A.J.) Masset, Marie (Sean) Slattery, and Matt Geurink; great-grandchildren, Oakley, Evelyn, and Ryleigh; step-children, Tim (Angela) Litzinger and Cheryl (Greg) Degges; 19 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Therese) Borrell, Clayton (Geraldine) Borrell; sisters-in-law, Sherry Borrell and Colleen Cahill; special friend, Elane Pepin; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Church of St. Mary in Waverly. This service will be live-streamed. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M., with a 7 P.M. rosary service on Friday, January 7, in the Parish Center at St. Mary Church. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 9-10:45 A.M. prior to the Mass, also in the Parish Center. Interment with Military Honors will be in the church cemetery.

Tricia Gruber, 47
Tricia Lyn Gruber, 47, passed away December 22, 2021, unexpectedly but peacefully. Born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, on September 17, 1974, to Terry and Roxane (Johnson) Kuehn, of Corcoran, Minnesota.
Tricia was baptized, received first communion, and was confirmed at St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Corcoran, MN. Tricia was later married – also at St. Thomas Church – to Gene Gruber (October 28, 1995). Tricia and Gene were blessed with three children who were the center of Tricia’s world. In addition to being a devoted mother, Tricia was a loving aunt, protective sister and cherished daughter. Tricia was also blessed to have had grandparents and even great-grandparents in her life for many years.
Tricia had a passion for animals – especially horses, fishing, camping, and all things outdoors. She loved family and friends and had a flair for problem-solving and getting behind causes that were important to her. She’ll be remembered as someone who could be counted on in difficult times, telling it the way it was and never, ever backing an inch when she believed that she was right.
In addition to her role as a mother, Tricia held various bookkeeping and office administration positions throughout her career, but she was perhaps best suited for her role as bus driver. This position allowed her to utilize her skill in and passion for children, problem solving and standing up for what she felt was right, and those that needed standing up for.
Tricia was to become a grandma in the spring, and leaves behind her husband, Gene Gruber; children, Jacob (Ashley) Gruber, Kacey Gruber, Baylie Gruber; parents, Terry Kuehn and Roxane Kuehn (Johnson); siblings, Rachel (Ryan) Foss, Joshua (Krista) Kuehn; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M., with prayer service at 2:00 P.M. at Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. Christian burial and celebration of life will take place in the spring.

William Johnson, 79
William Albert “Bill” Johnson, age 79, of Buffalo, and formerly of Elk River, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, in Buffalo.
He was born on December 14, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Winston A. and Virginia L. (Baldwin) Johnson.
Bill graduated from Osseo High School in 1961. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves.
He was employed by Spancrete in Osseo. Retired after 20 years at Functional Industries. Bill was a true outdoorsman, member of Elk River Saddle Club, Life member of the NRA, former participant in The Buffalo Rodeo, and an avid horseman. He suffered a TBI in a motor vehicle accident in 1971.
Bill is survived by former spouse, Barbara “Bobby” Johnson; children, Michelle (Zeca) Santana, Merissa (Randy) Johnson, Marnie Johnson, Mary (Pete) Parks, Wade (Leana) Johnson and Warne (Jenny) Johnson; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell (Pam) Johnson; a sister, Mary Lou Pakusch; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with visitation one hour prior to services. Lunch to follow at Bison Creek Event Center.

Corey Kingstedt, 53
Corey D. Kingstedt, age 53, of Big Lake, Loving Son, Husband, Dad and Brother, passed away on 12/26/21.
Corey was preceded in death by father, Owen Kingstedt.
He is survived by mother, Lois (Veches) Kingstedt; wife, Angie Kingstedt; children, Jenna and Derek Kingstedt; sister, Shawn (Ron) Deppa; and brother, Jeffrey Kingstedt; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Corey liked to trap shoot, go bowling with Angie and the kids, and spend time at home with his family.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Corey will be held in the spring. Memorials can be mailed to the funeral home in care of the Kingstedt family.

Paul Leinbach, 89
Paul Curry Leinbach, age 89, of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 4:30 P.M. at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Buffalo. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:30 a.m.

Thore Meyer, 95
Thore Peter Meyer, age 95, was born Per Thore Olsson, on November 20, 1926, in Stora Skedvi, Dalarna, Sweden to parents Albert Verner Olsson and Signe Cecelia (Norrblom) Olsson.
He passed away peacefully on December 27, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital surrounded by his family.
He immigrated to the US in 1928 and was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, MN. A graduate of Buffalo High school, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in California. When discharged, he completed his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of MN. Thore worked as a Civil Engineer in the Minneapolis area before building his own firm in Buffalo. He met his sweetheart, Joyce Ida Vergin, in high school and fell in love as he tutored her in Physics, a required course for pursuing her nursing career. They were married on September 1, 1948, in Buffalo, MN. God blessed their marriage with four children.
An entrepreneur businessman, Thore worked tirelessly to build his engineering firm providing engineering services to Buffalo and surrounding communities. A lifelong member at Buffalo Covenant Church, he served in many roles, and his love for the Lord was demonstrated as he shared his love deeply with family and friends. His later years were marked by caring for Joyce through her journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and also visiting friends that were homebound.
Thore intentionally invested in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and they returned the investment. He attended many activities to discover their unique interests, whether cheering on their sport endeavors, touring their work settings, learning to pickle beets, exploring their love for smoking meats, as a travel companion especially introducing them to his homeland Sweden, and sharing their mutual love for the Minnesota Gophers. An avid Gopher fan, Thore held season tickets for Gopher football and basketball for over 60 years.
Thore is survived by children, Paul (Laurie) Meyer, David (Dawn) Meyer, Beth (Robert) Bjork, Jeffrey (Kelly) Meyer; thirteen grandchildren, Rachel (Judd) Stevens, Erik (Kerstin) Meyer, Travis (Dana) Meyer, Adam (Aida Naderi) Meyer, Corey Meyer, Brooke (Josh) Curb, Cole (Claire) Meyer, Allyson (Trent) Pearson, Kristen (Jared) Penz, Benjamin (Erin) Bjork, Layne (Elliott Johnson, Kurt (Lucy Bullock) Meyer, Weston Meyer; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill Bosacker; and many other relatives and friends, both in the U.S. and Sweden.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce; his parents; his sister, Karen Holmquist Bosacker; and brother-in-law, Willys Holmquist.
A memorial service was held on January 3, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Buffalo Covenant Church, Buffalo, MN, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Private family interment at Swedish Mission Cemetery, Buffalo, MN.

James Reifsteck, 83
James M. Reifsteck, aka Jim or JR, of Buffalo, MN, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the age of 83 years.
He was born on July 14, 1938 in Blue Earth, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was prolific in wrestling and football. He worked as a truck driver for Continental Baking and was a contract driver for the US Postal Service. Jim was a great athlete, he enjoyed shooting pool, and had many friends who he chatted with every day.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Luella Reifsteck; brothers, William and Warren; sisters, Joann and Nina; nieces, Jean and Pat.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, of 18 years, but have been together for over 47 years; sister, Eleanor Younger; nephews, Bobby, Rick, Mike, Terry, Randy, Bernie, Scott; nieces, Carol, Mary Jo, Cynthy and Connie; many grand nephews and nieces; stepdaughter, Renee Neuman and significant other, Jack Korthof; stepson, Orrin Schmidtbauer and significant other, Lisa Haskamp; stepdaughter, Wanda Handeland and husband, Dana; step-grandchildren, Christopher, Kirsten (Brad), Zach, Paige, Josh, Devin and Alexis and their significant others.

Virgil Solberg, 80
Virgil Melvin Solberg, age 80, of rural Buffalo, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on June 23, 1941, in Marysville Township, Wright County, the son of Melvin and Doreen (Howard) Solberg. Although he worked in the business of surveying for a short stint out of high school, his life-long career, and passion, was farming. He grew up helping his parents tend fields and milking cows on the family farm, a farm that he later ended up purchasing from them. Aside from helping his parents, he created his own source of income on the family farm, by learning to raise pigs. He made enough money to buy himself several more pieces of land and expanded his farm. Twenty years ago, he sold his final batch of pigs and focused more on his fields and crops, as well as his small herd of cows. Virgil loved his John Deere tractors. There was no doubt, when you drove by the Solberg farmstead that Virgil’s farm “ran green.”
In 1985, Virgil lost his hand in a farming accident. He was an amazing man in that he built his small farming empire with only one hand. It was easy to forget he had a handicap, as he would run circles around most people when it came to any kind of hard farm work and found ways to do anything a two-handed farmer could do. He is a true example of perseverance in the face of adversity, as neither handicap, nor age, affected his ability to get his farm work done.
Thirty-eight years ago, Virgil started a relationship with Bev Adickes, found a long-time farming companion, her son, Jerid, and through those relationships (including Bev’s daughter, Stacey), became the bonus grandpa, “papa,” to 10 grandchildren. He loved them all and passed on the best parts of himself to each one.
Virgil’s sisters were very important in his life, and they regularly came back to the family farm for holidays (Judy and Wally trekked all the way from WI many times), weekend stays (when Ladonna would cook huge, delicious farm meals for all who came to supper and spoiled Virgil with her desserts), went on fishing trips with him in his not-so “retired” years and were there to help him in his times of need (sickness, busy farm seasons, etc.). He often went to visit oldest sister, Phyllis, and brought her lots of meat from the farm during their visits at her home.
Virgil’s life touched so many people, both family and friends. It did not matter if you were a blood relation or a neighbor; once Virgil warmed up to you, you became part of his family. So many lives were filled with his kindnesses and wonderful memories created on his farm.
Virgil is survived by his siblings, Phyllis Solberg, of Plymouth, LaDonna Almquist, of Minneapolis, Ronald Solberg, of Eagan, Judy (Wally) Johnson, of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, and Gary Solberg, of Maple Grove; his loving companion, Beverly Adickes, of Montrose, and her family, Jerid (Katrina) Adickes and their children Bella, Charlie, Benji, Jerid Jr. and Vivi; Stacey Colson and her children Michael, Ethan, Chelsea, Jordan and Ashley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Virgil Solberg will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Deacon Rick Witucki will officiate. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 8, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Casket Bearers will be Joe Hickman, Michael Colson, Charles Adickes, Wayne Twitchel, Mike Des Marais, and Jerid Adickes.

Judy Spike, 61
Judy Lynn Spike, age 61, of Buffalo, passed away on December 28, 2021.
Judy was born the daughter of Jack and Georgeann (Harris) Matson on March 4, 1960, in Wayzata, MN. She graduated from Buffalo Senior High School in 1978.
On April 28, 1979, Judy was united in marriage to her husband, Kurt. Judy was a loving mother to both Kris and Jon and also a very loving grandmother to Lily, Hunter, Kolby, Milana, Jordan and Milan. Judy loved spending time with her family and friends but especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren.
Judy spent a great amount of time gardening, caring for animals and loved the farm. Aside from family, she started, ran and owned her own travel agency in the early ‘90’s, Buffalo Travel & Cruise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Georgeann Matson; her in-laws, Walter and Katherine Spike.
Judy is survived by her husband, Kurt; sons, Kris Spike and Jon (Brandi) Spike; grandchildren, Lily, Hunter, Kolby, Milana, Jordan and Milan; sisters, Roxie Davis, Robin Matson and Karen StLouis; brother-in-law, Kevin Spike; sister-in-law, Karla (Randy) Blade; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Judy was held Monday, January 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, all at Buffalo Presbyterian Church of Buffalo. Luncheon followed at church. Private family interment at Lakeview Cemetery of Buffalo.

Lyle Thingvold, 90
Lyle Victor Thingvold, age 90, of Buffalo, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
He was born on October 8, 1931, in Minneapolis, the son of John O. and Selma (Ishaug) Thingvold. He graduated from Rockford High School in 1949.
Lyle honorably served his Country in the Merchant Marines sailing The Great Lakes.
In 1957, Lyle V. Thingvold and Shirley A. DeVries were joined in holy marriage at the Buffalo Evangelical Covenant Church. God blessed their marriage with a son, Larry.
He was formerly employed with his father as a commercial painter, and later as an Account Executive for The Yellow Pages.
He loved his grandchildren and was very proud of them!
Lyle was an avid golfer and spent many hours on the course. He enjoyed sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins.
Lyle is survived by his loving son, Larry (Lori) Thingvold, of Delano; grandchildren, Shelby and Andy; siblings, Daryle (Suzette) Thingvold, Shirley Jacobs, Dennis Thingvold, and Doug (Carole) Thingvold; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley A. Thingvold in 2017; his parents; siblings, John Wallace (Lois) Thingvold, Frannie (Reider) Hansen, and Richard Thingvold; brother-in-law, John Jacobs; and sister-in-law, Mary Thingvold.
Services for Lyle Thingvold are pending and will be held at a later date.
