Wayne Hillstrom, 81

Wayne D. Hillstrom, age 81, of Buffalo, passed away on September 26, 2022.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano, MN.  Interment Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain. 

Visitation at the church on Saturday, October 1, from 9 A.M. until time of service.  Memorials are preferred to Mt. Olive Building Fund.

Robert Ordorff, 81

Robert “Ordy” Ordorff, 81, of Buffalo, MN, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at home accompanied by his son, Scott.

Robert was born on October 24, 1940, in Buffalo, MN. He attended Buffalo Country school and then graduated Buffalo High School in 1957. Robert owned and operated Mr. Softie’s Ice Cream Truck business. Most of his life, he was employed by Fullerton Lumber as a truck driver.

Ordy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clarice Ordorff.

He is survived by his son, Scott Ordorff.

A private service is planned at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo, MN.

 


Joan Vetsch Tholkes, 90

Joan Vetsch Tholkes, age 90, of Buffalo, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at The Annandale Care Center.

She was born on June 26, 1932, in Cogswell, North Dakota, the daughter of George W. and Catherine (Paul) Schlagel.

Joan was joined in holy marriage to Lloyd J. Vetsch on August 8, 1951. God blessed their marriage with six children. Lloyd Vetsch preceded his wife in death in 1995.

She was joined in holy marriage to Matt Tholkes on September 7, 2000. He preceded her in death in 2014.

Joan loved flowers, reading, traveling, and all puzzles. She enjoyed doing a lot of hand embroidery work. Joan belonged to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo.

Survived by her loving children, Brian (Marilyn) Vetsch, of Monticello, Bruce (Bonnie) Vetsch, of Saginaw, Minnesota, Bill (Pat) Vetsch, of Clearwater, and Julene (John) Wilson, of Howard Lake; daughters-in-law, Brenda (Curt) Steurer, of Elk River, and Teri Vetsch, of Cokato; eighteen grandchildren; and thirty-two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husbands, Joan was preceded in death by sons, Keith and Kevin Vetsch; son-in-law. Jim Hirsch; her parents; and by twelve siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan Vetsch Tholkes will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Father Nathaniel Meyers will be the Celebrant.

Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, September 29 from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass.

Casket Bearers will be Bridget Johnson, Nathan Vetsch, Dan Vetsch, Julisa Hirsch, Colton Vetsch, and Nicolas Vetsch.
