Earl Dixon, 88

Earl Arthur Dixon, age 88 of Buffalo, passed away June 28, 2019 at Park View Care Center of Buffalo. 

Earl was born the son of George and Beatrice (Hafften) Dixon on August 2, 1930 in Buffalo. He attended the country school on County Road #34 and then Rockford High School.

On May 16, 1953 Earl was united in marriage to Agnes M. Fry in St. Leo, MN. They celebrated sixty-three years of marriage until Agnes’ death in 2016.

Earl and Agnes lived along Lake Charlotte on the Dixon family farm, that had been established in 1856. They retired in 1991 and remained on the farm until they moved to Park View Care Center in 2013.

Earl was a charter member of the Hanover Lions for many years. Earl and Agnes enjoyed traveling as the president of the International Lion’s Pin Traders Club. 

Earl was preceded in death by: his wife, Agnes; infant son, Joseph; and sister, Delores Epple.

He is survived by: daughter, Adaline Caspers and her friend Frank Ruthman of Buffalo; son, Christopher (Winifred) Dixon of Montrose; grandchildren Daniel Caspers, David (Melissa) Dixon and Sarah Dixon; great grandchildren Hunter and Jaida Dixon.

Funeral services for Earl will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Park View Care Center Chapel of Buffalo. Visitation also be held Wednesday, July 3 from 4-7 p.m. at the Park View Care Center Chapel of Buffalo. Luncheon to follow at Park View Care Center. Officiating is Father Nathaniel Meyers.

Casket Bearers will be David Dixon, Frank Ruthman, Dennis Epple, Terry Rux, Doug Skelly and Hunter Dixon.

Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery of Rockford.

Serving the family is The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo.

 


Bonnie Fjeld, 82

Bonnie J. Fjeld, age 82, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2019, while at home, watching the MN Twins game.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 9 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Buffalo American Legion Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Serving the family is the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

 


Raymond Kalway, 95

Raymond Joseph Kalway, age 95 of Buffalo, passed away on June 26, 2019.

He was born on May 29, 1924 in Maple Lake, to Bernard and Anna (Carriveau) Kalway. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake and attended Maple Lake Public School until he had to help work on the family farm. 

He was joined in marriage to Eva (Elletson) Ordoff and together they had 5 children.

Ray was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1946. After his service, he farmed in Maple Lake for several years, until about 1959. He also worked for Nodland Company out of Paynesville for several years until his retirement. In January of 1966, Ray was joined in marriage to Margaret (Johnson) Veches, adding her children to his family.

In their spare time, Ray and Margaret liked going to auctions to bid on antiques and other collectable items. They enjoyed taking road trips in their RV around the States, especially to attend Legion conventions. He proudly served twice as the Commander for the American Legion Post 270 in Buffalo, and was active in helping organize Legion events and provide military honors for Veterans.

Ray was preceded in death by: his wife, Margaret; son, Joseph; step-son, Kenneth Veches; step-grandson, Todd Veches; step-great-grandson, George Jones; parents, Bernard and Anna; brothers, Bernard, George, and Francis; and sisters, Doris Angell, Leone Berthiaume, and Mary Engesser.

He is survived by his children, Marcia (Leo) Endres, Kenneth (Judy) Kalway, James (Shirley) Kalway, and Karen (Gary) Biegert; step-sons, Gerold (Susan) and George (Betty) Veches; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Anastasian; step-daughter-in-law, Geri (Carl) Bruckmann; daughter-in-law, Ruth Kalway; and many other relatives and friends.

A special thanks goes out to his caregiver, Angela.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo. Interment and military honors to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.

Denise Klingler, 68

Denise Lynn Klingler, age 68, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at her residence.

She was born on March 8, 1951 in Coon Rapids, the daughter of William H. and LaVonne (Olson) Workman.

Denise graduated from Anoka High School.

On June 27, 1986, Denise and Clifford Klingler were joined in holy marriage. Cliff preceded her in death in 2017.

She formerly was employed at Fingerhut and was a dispatcher for Cliff’s Trucking Company.

Denise enjoyed gardening, coloring, playing cards and board games. She loved animals, baked goods and candy.

Denise is survived by: her children, Amber (Randy) Bebeau of Andover, Jason (Stephanie Fix) White of Monticello, and Tiffany (Toot) Warren of Becker; seven grandchildren, Valarie, Karleigh, Kaleigh, Danny, Madison, Adrianna and Angeleighna; two brothers, Scott (Audrey) Workman and Steve (Amy) Workman; and by a sister, Kari Binger.

In addition to her husband, Denise was preceded in death by: a son, William Dennis White; her parents; a brother, Jerry Workman; and by a sister, Terri Jo Dingmann.

Per Denise’s wishes, there will be no services held.

Also, per Denise’s wishes, there should be no social media postings pertaining to her passing.

Clinton Lambert, 91

Clinton Gilbert Lambert, age 91, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Park Terrace Assisted Living in Buffalo.

He was born on April 7, 1928 in Howard Lake the son of Edward and Dora (Reek) Lambert.

Clinton was baptized on April 29, 1928 at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on March 29, 1942 also at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. His confirmation memory verse was Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

On October 14, 1950, Clinton G. Lambert and Betty J. Lantto were joined in holy marriage at the Apostolic Lutheran Church north of Cokato. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Clinton and Betty farmed in Chatham Township, Wright County for many years.

Clinton was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

Clinton is survived by: his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Betty J. Lambert; children, Myra Jane Robbin, Mona (Andrew) Hathaway-Riehl, Mark (Karey) Lambert and Gene (Mary Jo) Lambert; twelve grandchildren and 21.9 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Elmer.

A Memorial service for Clinton Lambert was held on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.  Pastor Ryan Clark officiated. Sandi Baert was the organist for the funeral service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Howard Lake Cemetery.

A visitation was held at the church Friday, June 28 beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of services.

Urn Bearers were Stacey Lambert, Heather Reed, Dan Lambert, Andrew Lambert and all other grandchildren.

Doreen Muhlick, 81

Doreen M.A. Muhlick, age 81, of Buffalo, and formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Lake Ridge Care Center.

She was born on July 22, 1937 in Kenosha the daughter of Lester & Grace (Aull) Belding.

On November 6, 1964, Doreen Belding and Dennis L. Muhlick were joined in holy marriage in Kenosha.  

She enjoyed making floral arrangements, playing cards, puzzles and bingo.

Denise is survived by: her loving husband of fifty-four years, Dennis L. Muhlick; children, Randall L. Jensen of Racine, Wisconsin, Lori R. Sowma of Kenosha and Sherry L. (Michael) O’Neill of Buffalo; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a brother Ronald Belding.

A Memorial Service for Doreen M.A. Muhlick was held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Bonita Nieman, 76

Bonita “Bonnie” K. Nieman, age 76, of Delano, passed away on June 25, 2019, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Watertown on October 21, 1942 to Alfred “Dutch” and Ethel Matter. 

Bonnie was preceded in death by: brother Donald.  She is survived by: son, Kevin; daughter, Kimberly; husband, George; and brother, Thomas.

Bonnie, as a lifetime resident of Delano, had a love of animals and nature; she had a fondness for sweets and black tea. Bonnie took great pride and joy in her job as a certified nursing assistant at Buffalo hospital. 

Thank you to the Garden House in Winsted for the care they gave Bonnie. Thank you also to her friends and relatives for their compassion during the course of her disease and the visits/cards. 

Visitation was Saturday, June 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Russell Ottenstroer, 82

Russell F. Ottenstroer, age 82, of Annandale, died Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Deacon Ron Freeman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Chatham Township.

Russell Francis Ottenstroer was born, the first of thirteen children, to Francis and Margaret (Kubalsky) Ottenstroer on May 15, 1937 in Chatham Township. Russ grew up on the family farm and attended country school. He helped his dad on the farm until the age of 18 when he then went to work for his neighbor, Edwin Moore, for 11 years. He then spent the next 10 years working for Lake Region Coop. in Buffalo. Russ eventually returned to the homestead where he continued farming until 1998. Upon his retirement, he bought a home near Sugar Lake. On September 17, 1983, he was united in marriage to Marjorie (Lemieux) Piram. She preceded him in death in 2005. On June 15, 2007, he was united in marriage to Sharon (Peterson) Klinzman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale. Russ was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church as well as the Father O’Brien’s Council Knights of Columbus #3613. In his spare time, Russ enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, woodworking, and tinkering on tractors.

Russ is survived by his wife, Sharon of Annandale; siblings, Janet Tesch of Staples, Donald (Barbara) Ottenstroer of Motley, Eugene (Jeanie) Ottenstroer of Alaska, Colleen Fischer of Colorado, Susan (Ervin) Birkholtz of Motley, Marie (Dale) Penaz of Cokato, Ann (Steve) Mann of Alma, WI, Elaine (Jon) Weigand of Verndale, Debra (Butch) Linkert of Browerville, Linda (Kevin) McKown of Anoka, and Michael (Lori) Ottenstroer of Buffalo; aunt, Lucille Ottenstroer of Anoka; step-children, Tammy (Don Kankelfitz) Hawkinson of Buffalo and Debbie (Brant) Jaynes of East Bethel; step-grandchildren, Ashley (Elijah Mikkola) Andrews, Katelyn Voight, and Tyler Voight; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie; parents, Francis and Margaret; sister, Rita Fischer; and nephews, Chad Ottenstroer and Troy Pribyl.

Robert Rohlin, 87

Robert “Bob” Lee Rohlin, age 87, of Buffalo, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5, 2019 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

Dorothy Walesch, 90

Dorothy M. Walesch, age 90, of Hanover passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.

She was born on February 11, 1929 in Minneapolis the daughter of Harry & Adelaide Ida (Cruzen) Faue.

On January 8, 1949, Dorothy Faue and Gordian F. “Gordy” Walesch were joined in holy marriage in the Rectory of the St. Michael Church in St. Michael. God blessed their marriage with a son and a daughter.

Dorothy was formerly employed for twenty-one years in The Hanover Post Office.

She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover.

Dorothy is survived by: a son, Steven M. (Nancy) Walesch; a daughter, Nancy (Stan) Kolasa Jr. all of Hanover; grandsons, Tim (Trinette Coakley) Walesch, Chad (Katie) Walesch, Shannon (Josie) Kolasa, Nick (Amanda) Kolasa and Matt (Lindsay) Kolasa; six great grandchildren, Dylan Kolasa, Lucas Kolasa, Ava & Logan Kolasa, Brett Walesch and Luke Walesch; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gordian F. “Gordy” Walesch in 2001; her parents; sisters, Joan and Jeanette.

Funeral services for Dorothy Walesch were held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover. Interment followed at Hanover Village Cemetery. A visitation was held on Saturday, June 29 at the church one hour prior to services.

Casket Bearers were Tim Walesch, Chad Walesch, Shannon Kolasa, Nick Kolasa, Matt Kolasa and Dylan Kolasa.
