Tom Cebulla, 73

Tom Cebulla, age 73, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his home in Talmoon, Minn.

He is survived by: his wife, Cheri; sons, Dan (wife Jen), Mike (wife Brooke) Cebulla, Curt (wife Patty), Dan and Bob Capes; brother, Jim (wife Eldora); brother-in-law, Glen Berglund; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susie and Bill Jordan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Greg and Gigi Schendel; grandchildren, Whitney, Kelsey, Tyson, Elsa and Cooper Cebulla, Cody, Cadin, Jordan and Melaina Capes; many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Kendra Durnan, 18

Kendra Kathleen Durnan, age 18, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was born July 9, 2002, the beloved daughter of James and Meryl (Peck) Durnan. A loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, devoted girlfriend and best friend to many.

Kendra was a beautiful girl, inside and out, who loved modeling and fashion. She was a talented artist and an even bigger dog lover.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Julie Bethel; and maternal grandparents, Carol and Theodore Peck.

Kendra will be deeply missed by her parents, Jim and Meryl Durnan; brother, Charlie; sister, Lily; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo, MN. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Sturges Park, Buffalo, Lower Pavilion from 3 – 10 PM.

Lennox Euerle, 86

Lennox Charles Euerle, beloved husband of Joan Mary Levno Euerle for 67 years, passed away on June 26, 2021. Born in Forest Prairie Township, Minnesota, on November 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Albert Emil W. and Clara W. Ramthun Euerle.

Preceding him in death include brothers, Fred, Albert, Berton, and William; sister, Margaret; and son, John.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; brother, Gerald (Audrey) (Litchfield, MN); sister, Annette Knutson (Cokato, MN); children, Steve (Maple Plain, MN), Sandi (Bill) Strickland (Sumter, SC), Debbie (Buffalo, MN), Rose (Steve) Foss (Cokato, MN), Juanita (Tom) Sparks (Goldsboro, NC), Tony (Andy) (Las Vegas, NV), and Ron (Lindi) (Fromberg, MT); grandchildren, Billy, David, Jason, Jessica, Aaron, Anthony, Nathan, Alex, Megan, Joshua, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Cooper, Tyler, Ava, Mason, McKenzie, and Lily.

Lennox proudly served for 11 years in the U. S. Air Force as a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War era at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was stationed at Parks Air Force Base Dublin, CA; Donaldson Air Force Base, Greenville, SC; McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX, McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, WA, and Naha Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. The C-134 Globemaster was his favorite aircraft to work on. As a member of the 3rd Air Rescue Squadron, Lennox served as an aircraft mechanic for the SA-16 Albatross amphibious aircraft. He flew in the Albatross, which was used in filming the movie “Flight from Ashiya.”

He was proud to have five children who followed his example by enlisting in the Air Force, as well as three grandchildren who also served in the military.

Lennox’s first love was Joan. He was a deeply-devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Among his other loves were the Minnesota Vikings, John Deere tractors, feeding and watching birds, fishing, old classic country music, cars, farming, and gardening. His favorite pets were Sam, Buddy, Betsy and Bootsie.  

A funeral service took place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Albion Evangelical Free Church (11480 5th St. NW, Cokato, MN 55321). Arrangements by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato, 320-286-2534, www.swansonpeterson.com.

 


Jeanne Krause, 85

(Paula) Jeanne Krause, age 85, of Buffalo, passed away on June 21, 2021, after a battle with cancer. She will be dancing again with her husband, Myron, who passed in December 2019.

Jeanne is survived by and will be missed by their children, Cindy (Jim) Kennedy, Roger (Tammy) Krause, and Julie (Tom) Johnson; grandchildren, Michael (Xiaomei) Krause, Jennifer Krause, Christopher (Shannon) Leonard, Alex (Amber) Euerle, Megan (Dee) Euerle and Zach (Emiliana) Risnes; great-grandchildren, Mason Euerle, Reina Risnes, and Sawyer Myron Euerle; along with several step-grand- and great-grandchildren.

Jeanne was born on November 19, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Charles and Dorothy (Huggins) Hamilton. She was baptized and confirmed at Union Congregational Church in St. Louis Park, MN.

Jeanne attended schools in Missouri, Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota, and graduated in 1953 from St. Louis Park High.

She worked at Prudential and at M & SIL Railroad while Myron served in the US Army. Jeanne and Myron were married in 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church, making their home on a farm SE of Buffalo. They lived there and raised their children there. Jeanne also worked part-time for years, but her best job was being at home, helping on the farm, cooking, canning, and baking cookies for the numerous kids that were always there--some into adulthood.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; her parents, Ham and Dorothy Hamilton; in-laws, Rienhald and Evelyn Krause; brothers-in-law, Ernie Robasse, Richard Krause, David Krause; sisters-in-law, Connie Krause, Mary (Muddy) Krause, Carol Krause; nephews, Gordy Bishop, and Scott Krause; and niece, Barb Krause.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she adored; also, her sister, Sharon Robasse; niece, Shelley (Mike) Robasse Soukup; and her boys, Justin, Brandon and Tyler Bishop; cousin Steve (Nancy) Schuetz; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Len) Bengtson; brother-in-law, Warren Krause; many nieces and nephews; and friends, some of whom are her 1953 Prudential Buddies.

Rest in peace, Mom.

Memorial services for Jeanne will be held on July 18 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1200 Highway 25 S in Buffalo. Fellowship and light lunch to follow.

Dana Rohrer, 58

Dana E. Rohrer, age 58, passed away early Saturday morning, June 26, 2021, at her home in Buffalo, MN. She was surrounded by loving family. There was a very moving drumming prayers ceremony at her bedside on Friday, adding more richness to the journey.

Dana was born on January 22, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN, to Robert Rollie and Eris Gwendolyn Rohrer (Chase). She grew up in Crystal, MN and graduated from Cooper High School. She raised her children in Montrose, MN.

Dana was a caregiver her whole life. She was awarded for her outstanding services to persons with disabilities. Her partner, Lee, stepped up as the loving caregiver, in her last couple years of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Randi Fulton.

She is survived by her devoted life partner, Lee Klingman; daughters, Amy Rohrer and Samantha Klingman; step-children, Crystal (Brandon) Cotton and Ryan Klingman; grandchildren, Brayden, Madilynn, MaKenna, and Ryder; sisters, Kimberly (Mark) Bielke and Cheryl (JJ) Johnson; brother, Tony (Brenda) Rohrer; step-mother, Deanna Nancy Rohrer; her beloved aunt, Dode Dougherty; honorary siblings, Jan Donald (Belinda) and Dawn Klingman; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service planned for a later date.

Joseph Scherber, 81

Joseph Cyril Scherber, age 81, of Rogers, Minnesota passed away June 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and sister.

He was born on August 29, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Charles and Eleanor (Courteau) Scherber.

Joe attended St. Michael Catholic School and graduated with the class of 1957. He enlisted to serve with the Army National Guard.

He was joined in marriage to Diane C. Kasper in 1959 at the Church of St. Michael, in St. Michael, Minnesota. Together, they purchased Joe’s father’s farm in Rogers in 1965 and started their careers as dairy and crop farmers. Joe held various jobs, in addition to farming, at Federal Cartridge, Hoffman Engineering, and Scherer Brothers Lumber Company. In his retirement, Joe was a truck and delivery driver for Hamel Maple Syrup Company and Designing Nature Landscaping Company.

Joe perfected the “Minnesota Goodbye;” he never ran out of stories and jokes to tell and could carry a conversation with just about anyone. He thoroughly enjoyed socializing with people, and always made them feel like long-time friends, even if they had just met. His genuine, welcoming, and kind demeanor easily allowed him to make many lasting friendships that he cherished throughout the years.

He was active in the community and served on the Hassan Township Board, was a member of the American Dairy Association, Rogers Lions Club, Foxtailers Snowmobile Club, Wright County Co-op, and was a devoted member of St. Walburga Catholic Church. In his spare time, he liked to go boating and relaxing at the family cabin, attend auctions, and never would turn down a trip to the Dairy Queen for a special treat.

In his 81 years, Joe was most thankful and proud of his family. His wife and children were his joy, and when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, his heart was full. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa and will be missed by so many in the community.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diane; children, Sandy (Steve) Jordan, Teresa (Erick) Heinz, Paul (Maren) Scherber, Patricia (Jeff) Leuer, Amy (Grigor Hadden) Scherber, Jodi (John) Stecker, and Holly (Pete) Jendro; 31 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolynn (Allen) Masson and Letha (Michael) Hinman; son-in-law, Steve (Jackie) Leuer; brother-in-law, Harold Trombley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Gwen Leuer; grandchildren, Lucas and John; sisters, Charlene (Leonard) Gratz and Jeanne Trombley; and nephew, Chuck Gratz.

Visitation was held Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with prayer service at 7:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Mary, Queen of Peace - St. Walburga Campus in Fletcher, MN. Interment followed at St. Walburga Cemetery in Fletcher.

Ellen Scheuble, 96

Ellen Barbara (Babatz) Scheuble, age 96, of Montrose, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side at her residence on Friday, June 25, 2021.

She was born on September 8, 1924, in Franklin Township near Watertown, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Mary (Ceryes) Babatz.

Ellen graduated from Buffalo High School in 1943.

On June 6, 1944, Ellen Babatz and Marvin Scheuble were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with eleven children.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly and also belonged to C.C.W. Ellen belonged to The V.F.W.  Auxiliary Post #1901.

Survived by children, Rick (Shirley) Scheuble, of Outing, Judy DeMars, of Buffalo, Peggy (Dewey) Cardinal, of Montrose, Darlene (Ron) Otto, of Winsted, Renee (Dave) Hausladen, of Montrose, Jan (Mike) Rasset, of Montrose, Gary (Susan Brannan) Scheuble, of Montrose, Debbie (Steve) Loebertmann, of Buffalo, RoseMary (Jim) Woitalla, of Annandale, and Lori (Tom) Stifter, of Mayer; 29 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Norma Babatz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of seventy-five years, Marvin H. Scheuble, on September 28, 2019; a son, Melvin J. Scheuble killed in action in Vietnam on July 2, 1968; a grandson, Lucas Rasset; a son-in-law, Vince DeMars; her parents, John and Mary Babatz; siblings, Margaret (Tom) Salonek, William “Bill” (Mary) Babatz Sr., Mary (Charlie) Motzko, Agnes (Joe Pollock) (Del Pfeifer), Florence (Ervin) Cardinal, John “Jack” Babatz; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Elizabeth (Vossen) Scheuble; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Scheuble.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ellen Scheuble was held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Father Kenneth O’Hotto was the Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A visitation was held at the Parish Hall at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly on Monday, June 28 from 4-8 P.M. A Rosary was recited at 7:15 P.M. and a Prayer Service was held at 7:30 P.M. Further visitation was held on Tuesday morning, June 29 at the church from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. 

Casket Bearers were grandchildren, Melissa Hausladen, Brandon Scheuble, Travis Loebertmann, Tyler Loebertmann, Daniel Woitalla, Mitch Woitalla, Zachary Stifter and Dylan Stifter.

Stanley Tyler, 83

Stanley T. Tyler, formerly of Buffalo, MN, died at his home in Palmview, TX, on March 8, 2021, from complications of kidney failure and COPD. 

He was born on September 6, 1937, in Savanna, IL, to Virgil and Gladys (Straight) Tyler. Stan was a loving husband to his wife, Ann (Barthel) and father to his four children, Philip, Jamie (Wayne Holte), Brenda (Mark Olsen), and Lance (Becky). He was a favorite grandfather to seven grandchildren, Gretchen, Jessica, Jeremy, Ashley, Rachael, Eric and Sarah; four great-grandchildren; and several bonus grandchildren.  Also surviving is his brother, Virgil Tyler (+Norma Jean). 

He was predeceased by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Alverda and Gene Boos; and brother, Charles.

Stan had a long and successful career as an addiction therapist, most recently at the Minneapolis and St. Cloud VA Medical Centers. He suffered from kidney failure for 15 years. In 2010, he was given the precious gift of a kidney from Bridget McShane. Eternal thanks to Bridget and Brian for this generous gift which gave him 10+ years of life.  His kidney disease was finally diagnosed when his donated kidney also failed. He was on dialysis for nine years.

Visitation at the church will begin at 6 PM and funeral services for Stan will be held on Tuesday, July 6, at 7 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, 18380 Columbus St., in the historic town of Dayton, MN. Interment will take place the following morning at 10 AM.

LeRoy Welch, 77

LeRoy James Welch, age 77, of Buffalo, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Fairview-Southdale Hospital in Edina.

He was born November 19, 1943, in Star Lake Township, Minnesota, the son of George Joseph and Margaret (Mann) Welch.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army.

On July 23, 1966, LeRoy Welch was joined in holy marriage to Penny L. Bergstrom in Richfield. God blessed their marriage with two children.

He was a former vice president of Continental Data. LeRoy was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. He enjoyed classic cars- “Chevy Best.”

LeRoy is survived by his loving wife, Penny L. Welch; children, Bradley (Connie) Welch, of Rushford, Minnesota, and Brenda (Jeffrey) Mader, of Buffalo; four grandchildren, Gary (Sarah) and Cody (Tracy); Lacey and Braxten; siblings, Darlene Carlson, Alvin (Collette) Welch, and Janice (John) Ludwig; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Joseph and Margaret Welch; an infant sister, Doris, and a nephew, Anthony “Tony” Welch.

A memorial service for LeRoy Welch will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 11 A.M. Pastor Ryan Clark will officiate. Interment with military rites at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
