Maurice Danielson, 89

Maurice Williams Danielson, age 89, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully at Cokato Manor in Cokato, MN on December 1, 2020. He was born on July 7, 1931, the son of Joseph and Esther (Broberg) Danielson, of Dassel, MN.

Maurice was baptized and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, MN. He received his elementary education in Steelsville School District 22.

After working for several years doing road maintenance, snowplowing, new home construction, and remodeling, Maurice retired. In his retirement, he still wanted to stay active, so he began volunteering at Pioneer Park in Annandale, MN, where he mowed lawns and worked on various upkeep projects. He also took care of mowing lawn at Marysville Church in Marysville Township and for Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN; which he and Georgia were members of for many years. 

Maurice really enjoyed being outdoors. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage and always had several different projects he was working on. He stayed very active until Dementia took over, and he moved to Cokato Manor to reside.

Maurice is preceded in death by his father; mother; brothers, Donald, Lowell, Merlyn; and sister, Ruth.

Maurice is survived by his wife of 40 years, Georgia Danielson, of Monticello; and his two children from his first marriage, Jodi (Pete) Jaunich, of Delano, MN, and Todd (Amy) Danielson, of Cartersville, GA. He is also survived by his three stepchildren, Don (Denise) Fisher, of Big Lake, MN, Julie Busse, of San Antonio, TX, and Christine (Chuck) Chastek, of South Haven, MN; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is also survived by his sisters, Frances Olson, of Hutchinson, MN, and Janice (Tom) Crowe, of Dassel, MN.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Buffalo, MN.

David DeMay, 69

David Francis DeMay passed away on Dec. 11, 2020.  He was born in Marshall, MN on May 8, 1950 to Frank and Ida (DeVos) DeMay.

David grew up in Marshall, MN with his older brother, Roger DeMay. David married Sharon Tarzwell on April 1, 1995, and they lived in Ham Lake, MN together for 27 years. David Loved bowling and enjoyed playing golf with his wife and friends. He loved collector trucks and antiques.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida DeMay; and his wife, Sharon Tarzwell-DeMay. He is survived by his son, Eric DeMay; daughter, Karla (Jason) White; stepson, Robert Tarzwell; and stepdaughter, Stacy Ceminsky.

David has three grandsons, Elijah, Devon and Hunter White. He has one step-grandson, Zachary Ceminsky and a step-granddaughter, Abby Ceminsky. 

David and Sharon DeMay:  They drove each other crazy but they were crazy for each other!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will not be a memorial service.

 


John Dingmann, 77

John G. “Butch” Dingmann, age 77, of Buffalo, entered Eternal Life on May 2, 2021 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.

He was born on June 16, 1943 in Cold Spring, Minnesota, the son of Alphonse and Elizabeth M. (Struck) Dingmann.

Butch owned and operated Butch’s Appliance and Repair in Sauk Rapids before moving to Buffalo and driving truck for Buffalo Bituminous. He then began owning and operating Major Appliance Repair in Buffalo.

On December 16, 1985, Butch was joined in holy marriage to Terri Jo (nee Workman) in Reno, Nevada. She preceded her husband in death on June 5, 2016.

Survived by two daughters, Kelly Jo Johnson and Mari Jo Hagen, along with one step-daughter, Tami Jo Kirk. He had five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

In addition to his wife, Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Whities; his father, Alphonse Dingmann; sisters, Betty Hinkemeyer Lenneman and Henrietta Moser; brothers, Roger and Gerald; and by a granddaughter, Tiara Jo.

A Memorial Service for John “Butch” Dingmann will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Pastor Dean Brown will officiate.

Robert DuBois Jr., 48

Robert Jones DuBois Jr., age 48, of Big Lake and formerly Buffalo, passed away on May 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born the son of Robert DuBois Sr. and Holly Effner on March 24, 1973 in Kingston, NY.

Robert moved to Minnesota and loved the cold weather here. He could be found outside during the winter wearing only two sweatshirts, hat and scarf and still would complain that he was hot.

He was a hard worker and worked many years for Marksman Metals in St. Michael. Robert’s hard work there was respected and was appreciated by everyone else. The company showed their appreciation to him in how well he was treated when he got sick.

For enjoyment, Robert loved hunting, fishing, his toys and candy. But his true love came from the time spent with his wife and family. He was always ready for a party and the memories made will always be treasured.

Robert is survived by his wife, Julie; daughter, Candice DuBois; sons, Seth and Parris DuBois; three grandchildren; parents, Robert Sr. and Holly DuBois; brothers, Robert Dugan, Robert B. DuBois and William DuBois; sister, Vanessa DuBois; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service for Robert will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service, all at The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo, MN. Officiating will be Pastor Ryan Clark of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Buffalo, MN. Private family interment at Riverside Cemetery of Monticello, MN to be held at a later date.

Gerald Jagodzinski, 85

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater for Gerald J. “Jerry” Jagodzinski, age 85, of Clearwater, who passed away on April 23, 2021. Reverend James Bump will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Buffalo. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the church in Clearwater.

Jerry was born December 31, 1935 to George and Helen (Kaczmarek) Jagodzinski in Hale Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. He attended St. Adalbert’s Catholic and country schools and was a Korean War Veteran stationed at Ladd Airforce Base in Fairbanks Alaska, where he piloted boats down the Chena and Salcha rivers. Jerry later attended Veterans Agriculture School for three years, then farmed in the Silver Lake and Howard Lake areas where he and his wife, Joyce, raised four sons, Brad, Bruce, Ron and Wade.

Jerry loved his days on the farm and was proud of his Holstein dairy herd and Registered Quarter Horses, showing several to State Championships and National points. He also served on the Minnesota Valley Breeder Association Board and as Victor County Treasurer for several terms. Jerry discontinued farming in 1985 and began a successful career at Edina Realty in Buffalo. He later drove school bus for the Buffalo School District.

In 1993, Jerry married Patti (Rossi-Koebensky) where they lived happily for many years on Lake Pulaski in Buffalo and enjoyed their ten grandchildren with lake fun, birthday parties, swimming, and grilling out. He also loved 50’s classic cars, snowmobiling, fishing, horses, the County Fair, Hinckley Casino, old country music, polkas and the Vikings! Mainly, he cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Patti; four sons, Brad (Sheila), Bruce (Sue), Ron (Angie), Wade (Teresa); stepdaughter, Kim (Kai) Larson; stepson, Adam Koebensky; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Katie (Seth), Valerie (Matt), Jack, McKenna, Maggi, Julia (Alex) Larson Anna, Luke and Paige Larson; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jagodzinski; and former wife, Joyce (Quast).

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elaine Neumann and Joan Bergman; and brother, Jerome.

Jerry will be remembered for his gentle kindness, unwavering strength of character, quiet humility and endearing wit. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him in life. We will forever carry a part of him in our hearts.

Marie Moy, 91

Marie A. Moy, age 91, of Waconia, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Good Samaritan in Waconia.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Community (41 East 1st St) in Waconia with Father Stan Mader as Celebrant of the Mass. Visitation held one hour prior to the Mass. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Marie Anna Moy was born November 28, 1929 in Humbolt Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Carl and Eleanore (Theisen) Ehalt. On October 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Roger Moy. Marie was originally from Lester Prairie before moving to Waconia. She worked at Tonka Toys, Mill City Plywood and the Twister (on weekends). After retiring, she and Roger enjoyed weaving rugs and selling them at flea markets. Marie was an excellent cook. She adored canning, sewing, camping and never missed an opportunity to stop at a garage sale. She also loved traveling to Canada to visit relatives. While residing at Good Samaritan, she enjoyed playing cards endlessly. Marie’s Catholic faith was very important to her all her life.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Eleanore Ehalt; husband, Roger Moy; son, Robert J. “Bob” Moy; grandson, Mark Moy; great-grandson, Linkin Moy; grandson-in-law, Jose Ruacho.

Richard Murray, 68

It is with great sadness that the Murray family announces the death of our husband, father, grandfather, and friend: Richard Alexander Murray. He passed away on April 27, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Rich was born on December 12, 1952 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Robert and Deloris (Leifermann) Murray.

On July 20, 1974, he was joined in marriage to Debora Royston. Together they raised two sons, Alex and Ryan Murray, both of Buffalo.

Rich always said he felt lucky to have lived such a wonderful life. He loved fishing and being in the outdoors, and always relished his time in the boat or in the woods.

Rich is loved and will be missed by his wife, Deb; his children, Alex (Angie) Murray and Ryan (Bess) Murray; grandchildren, Dalina, Lily, Jorie, Rosie, Eva, Ryker, Christian, Grayson, Brynna; and great-granddaughter, Violet. He will also be missed by his sister, Jan (Ron) Laustrup, of Texas; brother, Bob (Rose Anna) Murray, of Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Deloris Murray; and his younger brother, Chuck Murray.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning one hour prior at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN.

Dianne Scanlon, 73

Dianne E. Scanlon, age 73, of Buffalo, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital due to complications of COVID-19.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer officiating. Family requests that masks be worn. Please bring a chair and dress for the weather. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.

Dianne Elizabeth Scanlon was born November 20, 1947 to Harold and Dorothy (Ferrell) Scanlon. Dianne grew up in Maple Lake, where she attended school. Dianne worked as a sales manager for Home Interiors. She enjoyed tending to her gardens and loved her dogs.

Dianne is survived by her children, Jody Myers, of Buffalo, Robert (Amy) Strong, of Annandale, Daniel (Eva) Kotilinek, of Albertville, Brian (Teri) Kotilinek, of Shakopee, Christopher Strong, of Winsted, and Michael Strong, of Buffalo; grandchildren, Amber Lengyel, Kenya Reinboldt, Gabe, Camilla and Ella Kotilinek, Britney and Kara Kotilinek, Emily, Cody and Ava Strong, Savannah and Marissa Strong; step-grandchildren, Isaiah and Taylor Hansen, and Dylan Bigelow; siblings, Rosemary Bakker, of Bloomington, Janice (Gene) Kuhlman, of Buffalo, and Mike Scanlon, of Buffalo; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Scanlon; brothers, Keith, Clyde and Daryl Scanlon; sisters, Shirley Starry and Jackie Wurm; and daughter, Missy Kotilinek.

Sharon Tarzwell-DeMay, 78

Sharon Lee (Shaffer) Tarzwell- DeMay passed away on Nov. 20, 2020.  She was born on Aug. 8, 1942 in Lake Crystal, MI to Maurice and Maxine (Edwards) Shaffer. Sharon was survived by husband, David DeMay with 26 years of marriage.

Sharon was born in Lake Crystal, MI.  Sharon’s father was a traveling salesman, so she moved a lot and lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, California and Minnesota. She married David DeMay on April 1, 1995.  After marriage, they resided in their Ham Lake home together for 27 years. Sharon was a Ham Lake resident for 46 years. Sharon enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and going to the casino! Sharon loved to play golf with her husband and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Maxine Shaffer.

She is survived by her son, Robert Tarzwell; daughter, Stacey Ceminsky; stepson, Eric DeMay; and stepdaughter, Karla (Jason) White.

Sharon has one grandson, Zachary Ceminsky; one granddaughter, Abby Ceminsky; and three step-grandsons, Elijah, Devon and Hunter White.

Marvin Valenta, 95

Marvin L. Valenta, age 95, of Buffalo, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Lake Ridge Care Center.

Benjamin Wittman, 40

Benjamin N. Wittman, of Waverly, MN passed away April 27, 2021. Born September 16, 1980 in Willmar, MN.

Ben is survived by his loves, Stella and Sarah, and his parents, Bonnie (Tim) and Kevin (Karen) and his siblings, Shannon, Chris, Brigid and David.

Ben taught many to have kindness in your heart. He always had a smile and made sure everyone had what they needed for a good time. He loved to fix things and experience the outdoors - hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling and anything involving Stella and Sarah. Ben was the glue that held family and friends together; he will be missed.
