Lisa Mueller, 57

Lisa Ann Mueller (Berning), age 57, of St. Michael, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022. She was born September 13, 1964, in Monticello, the daughter of James and Mary (Tamm) Berning.

Lisa attended St. Michael-Albertville High School, graduating with the class of 1983. After graduating from St. Cloud State University, she began her career working with Wells Fargo from 1988 until 2000. Lisa was able to raise her boys at home for 15 years while supporting our Domino’s Pizza businesses and later worked in the Insurance Services Industry for two-and-a-half years.

On August 30, 1991, Lisa Berning and Ronald Mueller were united in Holy Matrimony at St. Michael Catholic Church. They were blessed with two sons, Marcus and Alexander “Sasha.”

Lisa was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church and actively lead a prayer group at the historic St. Michael Catholic Church and also helped with funeral lunches. She volunteered her time at the St. Michael Catholic School, Boy Scouts, and other organizations near to her heart.

She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Lisa’s greatest passion in life was her family. She dearly loved and enjoyed her boys. In addition, Lisa loved planning family get-togethers with all her extended family.

Lisa had a generous spirit, always being there to help others at any time. She thoughtfully and personally got to know everyone she met, remembering even the smallest detail of that person’s life.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marcus and Teresa Berning, Roman and Adeline Tamm.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Ron Mueller; sons, Marcus Mueller and Alexander “Sasha” Mueller; parents, Jim and Mary Berning; siblings, Michael Berning, Dennis (Carrie) Berning, Charles (Jill) Berning, Susan (Jerry) Mealman; brother-in-law, Douglas Zins; nieces and nephews, Henry, William, Isabel, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Eric, Jacob, Olivia, Arianna; beloved dog, Gunner; and many other family and numerous friends.

A special thank you to the St. Cloud Hospital, Monticello Hospital, Courage Center in Golden Valley, QLI in Nebraska, and Whispering Pines in Elk River for all their loving care and support of Lisa and our family over the past few years.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 P.M., and prayer service and time of sharing at 7:00 P.M., at St. Michael Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M., at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

Ann Rooney, 76

Ann Elizabeth Rooney, age 76, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 19, 2022. She was born December 6, 1945, in Glenwood, the daughter of Clifford and Helen (Thompson) Hagen.

Ann graduated from Glenwood High School with the class of 1963. She worked 20+ years as an executive secretary with Emerson in Chanhassen until her retirement. Through her career, she was able to travel locally and internationally.

On February 14, 1968, Ann Hagen and Robert Rooney were united in marriage. They were blessed with two children, Dean and Erin.

“Grandma Ann” cherished her time spent as a volunteer reading to students at Northwinds Elementary School. She enjoyed spending her time making quilts, embroidering, collecting dolls, traveling, being outside, reading and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Ann had a great sense of humor and was very personable. She loved people and visiting with them!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Helen Hagen.

Ann is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bob Rooney; children, Dean (Jennifer) Rooney, Erin Rooney; grandchildren, Bryan, Amanda, Caitlin, Wyatt, Brendan; siblings, Ken (Rose) Hagen, Cathy Hippe, Steve (Sandy) Hagen; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Suzanne Strege, 54

Suzanne “Suzy” Strege, age 54, of Buffalo, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Suzy was born July 22, 1967, in Waseca, MN, to Robert and Annette Lord. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1985 and Saint Mary’s University in 1989 with a degree in Elementary Education.

On October 9, 1993, Suzy was united in marriage to Roger Strege, and they were blessed with two daughters, Taylor and Claire. Suzy adored her girls and loved everything about being a mother.

Suzy had a keen eye for all things crafty and loved creating hand-made gifts and cards for her friends. She was active in the decorating committee at St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years. She loved hanging out in her “she-shed” porch with friends and neighbors, walking the family dog, Roxy, riding bicycle, attending Pearl Jam concerts with Roger, and summertime Camaro rides. Always the prankster, Suzy would go to great lengths to make herself and others laugh.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughters, Taylor and Claire; sister, Tracy Lord; mother, Annette Lord; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022. There will be visitation at the church before the funeral from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served at the church immediately following the service.
