Obituaries 04/24/25

Daniel Gabrelcik, 72

Daniel Lawrence Gabrelcik was born on May 27, 1952, the fifth of ten children. He grew up on a farm west of Delano and graduated from Delano High School in 1971. Dan married Cecilia Bauman at the Church of St. Peter in Delano on June 17, 1972. Dan and Cece raised their five children outside of Delano, where Dan spent time putzing in his shop, woodworking, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, driving his Kubota, fishing, boating, and maintaining the ‘Woods.’

Dan founded Gabrelcik Drywall Inc. in 1974, shortly after the birth of his oldest child. He went on to hang sheetrock and drywall many homes throughout the western Twin Cities. Dan retired in 2021 after spending 47 years developing his identity of Dangerous Dan the Drywall Man.

After retirement, Dan could be found holding court at Menards. He would also make random visits to family and friends, lending a helping hand on whatever project was being done at the time of his visit.  Dan also enjoyed napping in his easy chair, watching John Wayne and westerns, and listening to classic country.

Most of all, Dan loved his family. He loved playing with his grandkids, making sure there was a four-wheeler, snowmobile, or go-kart to get in trouble on. Dan’s big heart is apparent in the legacy left behind in his family. He will be remembered forever and will remain in our hearts always.

Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cecilia; children, Charity (Nathan) Filipi, Andrew Gabrelcik (Michelle DeWitte), Joshua Gabrelcik, Jessi (Scott) Rinne, Tracy Gabrelcik; grandchildren, Matthew (Michaela Malone) and Samantha Filipi, Tanner Chevrette, Jenna Anderson, Colin and Hannah Gabrelcik, Maria and John Manuel, Wyatt Gabrelcik; great-granddaughter, Cienna Chevrette; siblings, Don (Kay), Linda (Ed) Franzen, Carol (TC) Fogarty, Bob (Lenore), LuAnn (Joe) Neaton, Gene (Lisa), Wayne (Donna); sister-in-law, Bonnie Gabrelcik; many nieces and nephews.

Lynne R. Robasse, age 65, of Annandale, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale, with Fr. Kevin Magner as Celebrant. Visitation was held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. A prayer service was at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery, near Annandale.

Lynne Ruth Ahsenmacher was born on March 14, 1960, to Donald and Gladys (Klemz) Ahsenmacher in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on an Air Force base. Along with her three siblings, Lynne was raised in Annandale, where she spent the vast majority of her life. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. A graduate of Annandale High School in 1978, Lynne pursued her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school. Her professional journey took a different path when she dedicated 35 years of her career as a mail sorter at Carlson Company, an organization that eventually became known as Gage Letter Shop and later American Spirit Mailing. On April 12, 1980, Lynne was united in marriage to Steven Robasse at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children. Although they later parted ways, they remained married, stayed in each other’s lives, and continued to raise their family as a team.

Lynne was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings. She was passionate about floral gardening, enjoyed the thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets, and found joy in sewing and crafting. Above all, it was her family that brought her the greatest joy. Lynne was a loving mother and grandmother who never missed a single event and was always the biggest cheerleader for her kids and grandkids. Her caregiving extended beyond her immediate family, encompassing extended relatives and friends, reflecting her generous and selfless nature.

Lynne is survived by her children, Scott (Annie) Robasse, of Buffalo, Casey Smith, of Annandale, and Lisa (Troy) Korsmo, of Kimball; grandchildren, Teddy, Ryan, Alabama, Emma, Jasper, India, Turner, and Aubrey; great-grandchild, Zakai; mother, Gladys Ahsenmacher, of Annandale; siblings, Dave (Jacquie) Ahsenmacher and Leanne (Joe) Fernandez, both of Annandale; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Muriel Zumbusch, 94

Faithful and loving servant of God, Muriel Margaret Zumbusch, of Buffalo, Minnesota, prayed her last decade of no less than 20,000 Holy Rosaries on April 16, 2025. She died peacefully in her sleep at age 94, almost certainly after enjoying her favorite evening treat of a bowl of ice cream. A long-awaited answer to her many earnest prayers, she is now joyously celebrating eternal life with her Creator.

Muriel was born in St. Michael, Minnesota, on December 19, 1930, to Arthur (Art) and Veronica (né Barthel) Eull. She was the second of five children and loved growing up on the farm, complete with the wholesomeness afforded by faith, family, and friends – a trinity she continued to prioritize throughout her life. Upon graduating high school from St. Francis boarding school in Little Falls, Minnesota, she took a clerical job working for Wright County in neighboring Buffalo, Minnesota. While shopping at a local dry goods store over her lunch break, she met her future husband and father to her seven children, Casper Zumbusch. Married on June 27, 1953, they built a home and a life west of Buffalo and raised Michael (Valerie), Pat (Peggy), Dave (Nancy), Paul (Sara), Anne (Jeff Johnson), Mary (Casey Schoen), and Chuck (Tammy). While life with seven children and a boisterous husband was not for the faint of heart, Muriel’s prayers kept her children safe while she made their home a place where friends gathered, card games were played (she may have been guilty of more than a little table talk), and conversations flourished. The smell of fresh baked goods or dinner could often be enjoyed wafting out of her kitchen, while WCCO radio or her favorite song “In the Mood” by the Glenn Miller Orchestra transported her to dances of her youth. In her advancing years, no mailbox, bumper, or the occasional retaining wall was safe. We are grateful all survived to figuratively tell the tale, although the same cannot be said for her car. She possessed a unique loving touch, which was often displayed through an arm or a backside pat, a hand squeeze, or a cheek pinch. Until her last breath, she was interested in every conversation she had and punctuated most with a soft smile and gentle head nod. No phone conversation or meeting was complete without her oft said, “God love you” farewell. She was one of a kind, and she will be missed.

Muriel was an active member of her community and lifelong devoted volunteer to many causes. She spent days annually calling on friends, neighbors, and newcomers alike to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. She was passionately pro-life and could frequently be heard marveling, “Babies are miracles!” over the top of any chubby-faced baby she encountered. Supporting Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL), Muriel worked countless Mother’s Day weekends making and selling corsages to support the unborn and could be found marching in frigid January temperatures at the State Capitol to protest abortion. For over two decades, Muriel led the rosary every Thursday at multiple senior living facilities. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Serra Club promoting priesthood and religious life. She lived to serve others and serve she did.

Muriel is preceded in death by her husband, Casper; and son, Paul Vincent, as well as her cherished siblings, Catherine McAlpine, Elda Warne, and Rollie Eull.

She is survived by her six children and their loving spouses; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; her sister, Yvonne Thibodeau, of Brooklyn Park; as well as countless nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

A wake will be held on April 30, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Chapel, 119 Central Avenue, Buffalo, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian burial for Muriel Zumbusch will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, Minnesota, on May 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to Mass from 9:15-10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) www.mccl.org.

Arrangements for Muriel Zumbusch are by The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Online condolences may be made to www.thepetersonchapel.com.
