While there was some ice forming on the small lakes, it has deteriorated quite a bit since last week. Any ice that remained early this week also looks soft and most big lakes were being kept open by the wind and warm weather of late.

Most hunting groups report good success and they're seeing plenting of deer. The very small bays hav eice on them, while the main bodies of most lakes were open or had a thin layer of ice as of Tuesday morning. A few ducks still being taken.

With a lack of anglers and skim ice taking hold on many small bays and ponds, there isn't anything to report on the local fishing scene. Most boats also have been put away and are now waiting for ice to form. Good luck to all the deer hunters!

Look to Clearwater Lake or Granite Lake with minnows for walleyes 10 to 18 feet. Overall, fishing pressure has been minimal and many boats have been put in storage. Walley action has picked up a bit with minnows on Clearwater Lake, Big Swan Lake, Lake Sylvia, and Granite Lake in 10 to 20 feet. Panfish, bass and northern pike reports have been limited as most anglers are chasing walleyes. Duck and goose hunting has been good with a few more divers showing up...
