It’s beginning to look a lot like springtime!

The weather has been fantastic lately in Minnesota; is it officially spring here? We all know how unpredictable the weather can be, especially in Minnesota. Second winter is always a possibility. However, I am enjoying the warming temperatures while I can.
The first official day of spring was on March 20, but it hasn’t started to feel like springtime here until this week. Snow is melting, roads aren’t slippery, and the sun has been shining.
I personally don’t mind the snow or the cold, I just hate driving in it. I know it’s an unpopular opinion to like winter, but I actually do. I like winter clothes better, I enjoy many winter activities, and most of the bugs are gone for months! One of my least favorite things is being too hot.
I can’t complain about the weather we have had so far this week. Not too hot, and not too cold. One thing I dislike about spring is all the puddles and mud. My dogs get their paws wiped before coming in the house all spring, otherwise my house gets covered in mud.
The other thing many dog owners, including myself, dread every spring is catching up on scooping dog “leavings” from their yard. So as pretty as spring can be, there is a lot of work to be done as well, and a lot of it is not pretty.
One plus during the springtime as a dog owner is going to dog parks more often and being able to take dogs for a walk without fear of slipping on ice. I have already seen many people on walks, runs, and bike rides.
My husband Ryan and I have a lot of gardening and landscaping plans for this spring and summer, so I am getting excited to begin those projects soon. So, happy spring, Minnesota, enjoy the warmer temperatures and sunshine!
