Glynette Cleveland, 80

Glynette Adell Cleveland, age 80, of Big Lake lost her battle with Alzheimer’s and peacefully died with her daughter beside her on Friday, July 31, 2020.

She was born on September 25, 1939 in Hanover, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and ReDella (Jewett) Stoppelman.

On September 19, 1958, Glynette A. Stoppelman and Roger H. Cleveland were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with three children.

She was formerly employed at Electrolux for over twenty-five years.

Glynette enjoyed yard work, gardening and dancing.  She especially enjoyed being with her sisters and her kids. She loved attending Bethany Bible Church.

Glynette is survived by her children, Ronald H. (Zeni) Cleveland, of Mankato, Christine L. Kiphuth, of Monticello and Kurtis A. (Lori) Cleveland, of Spring Lake Park; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Loren (Beatrice) Stoppelman, of Maple Lake; a sister, Ardys (Allen) Buskey, of Buffalo; a brother-in-law, Donald Mooney, of Maple Lake; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger H. Cleveland; a grandson, Timothy Cleveland; a brother, Darryl Stoppelman; a sister, Cleone Mooney; nephews, Steve Mooney and Rory “Slugger” Stoppelman; a niece, Judy Stoppelman; and by a sister-in-law, Pat Stoppelman.

Funeral Services for Glynette Cleveland will be held on Thursday, August 6 at 1:00 p.m. at The Bethany Bible Church, 511 Eagle Lake Road N., in Big Lake, MN. Pastor Mark Snider will officiate.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, August 5 from 4-8 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Further visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6 one hour prior to services at the church.

Betsy Hintz, 63

Betsy Louise Hintz, age 63, of Buffalo, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020. She was born April 8, 1957 in Minneapolis.

She grew up in Excelsior on the lake, having the greatest hangout place for her family and friends to visit.

Betsy was a 1975 graduate of Chaska High School where she excelled in Art. She worked as a Graphic Artist at a few print shops in Shakopee.

On March 25, 1983, Betsy Vosejpka married her soulmate, Ryan Hintz, at the Lowry Nature Center in Victoria, MN.

She enjoyed anything outdoors, exploring, hunting, fishing, going to the cabin, searching for agates along Lake Superior, and she was an Amazon junkie. She especially enjoyed Bingo on Wednesday nights at Uptown in Waverly. She greatly loved her cat, Georgie.

Betsy was a huge supporter of the military and was a leader for making and mailing care packages to the troops in Afghanistan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ryan Hintz; parents, Richard and Lois Vosejpka; and brothers, Tom and Ken.

Betsy is survived by her siblings, Jean (Greg) Hafften, Karan (Rich) Blackmer, Ben (Mindy) Vosejpka; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Jeremy, Marnee, Lindsay, Bethany, Ellen, Harley, Jamie, Jesse, Casey; great-nieces and great-nephews, Zoe, Wyatt, Aaron, James, Bruce, Lane, Remi, Jax, Danielle, Cody, Morgan, Riley, Kamryn, Hattie, and her beloved cat, Georgie.

A celebration of Betsy’s life will be held Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. All in attendance are welcome to Uptown Bar & Grill in Waverly for a bump and a bite!

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Eagle’s Healing Nest (Veteran support organization – eagleshealingnest.org/donate/).

A special thank you to Allina Hospice and Betsy’s caregivers, Leslie and Paige, for their wonderful care and love shown to Betsy.

Diane Hoiland, 78

Diane Hoiland, 78, of Buffalo, passed away at home on April 3, 2020, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 8, 2020 with a visitation from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at Buffalo Covenant Church, Buffalo. The sanctuary will be set up to comply with social distancing practices. If unable to attend the live service, digital viewing will be available once service is recorded.

 

 

 

 


Stanley Holm, 77

Stanley O. Holm, “The Swede,” passed away peacefully August 2, 2020 at Annandale Care Center.

Stan was born Aug. 29, 1942 to Franklin and Agnes Holm. He graduated from Cokato High School in 1960. Shortly thereafter, he served in the United States Army stationed in Korea. A lifelong resident in the Cokato area, Stan enjoyed working with his hands and being physical. He worked in the construction field until he retired at age 62.

He played softball and bowled for many years. As a lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapshooting along with other outdoor activities. Stan enjoyed watching all sports on TV and spending time with other Veterans at the Howard Lake Legion. He’ll always be remembered for making people laugh with his joke telling and wonderful sense of humor.

Stan is survived by his children, Michelle (Eric) Higgins, Carolyn (Ray) Christensen, Tracie Holm, Brian (Yvonne) Currey and Betty (Jeff) Weber; grandchildren, Catelyn Holm and Aubrey (Gary) Barnett; siblings, Helen Peterson, Chester Holm and Arlene (Jim) Phinney; and sister-in-law, Margy Holm.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ronald Holm, Evelyn Hintz, Edith Peterson, and Carl Holm, and his four-legged companions, Herman, Nels, Mike, Sadie, and Kai.

Military Honors will be performed at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Veterans Memorial Park, Brooks Lake, Cokato, Minnesota.

Marlys Wollum, 94

Marlys V. (Peterson) Wollum, 94, of St. Paul, MN died peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Episcopal Homes. Born October 7, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Theodore R. Peterson and Alice (Kelley) Peterson.

She married her husband Vincent July 3, 1953. She lived in Fridley and New Brighton, MN and San Jose, CA. After Vince retired, she wintered in Mesa, AZ and summered in Akeley, MN. She moved to Buffalo, MN and finally Episcopal Homes, St. Paul, MN. She was a founding member of both St. Phillips Lutheran Church in Fridley, MN and Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN.

Marlys is survived by daughter, Pamela Wollum and son-in-law, Frank Dewey, Mpls; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wollum, Buffalo; grandchildren, Eryn (Owen) Vincent, Mpls, John Dewey (Leeann Sit), Mpls, Cassandra and Sonja Wollum, Buffalo; and great-grandson, Ancel Vincent.

She was preceded in death by brother, Stanley Peterson; son, Gregory Wollum; and husband, Vincent Wollum.

Because of Covid-19, there will be no public memorial service.
