Jerome Kirchner, 75

Jerome “Jerry” Francis Kirchner,  age 75, of Loretto, passed away on July 17, 2019 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

He was born the son of Henry and Viola (Engler) Kirchner on October 3, 1943 in Mankato.

Jerry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a part of the Stroke Survivors Group.

Jerry was famous for providing people with black walnuts and making them smile.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Beverly; seven children and many grandchildren; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, July 22, one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial Services for Jerome Kirchner were held Monday, July 22 at 12 noon at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hanover. Interment was held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Luncheon followed at the church.

Serving the family was The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo.

 


Frederic Reimer, 78

Frederic (“Freddy”) Henry Reimer was born November 29, 1940 in Waverly, to Frederic Anthony and Lorraine (Mahlstedt) Reimer.  He grew up on the family farm in Howard Lake.

Frederic proudly served the Wright County Sheriff’s Department for over 50 years from 1964, initially on the Reserve Unit, until he retired for the final time in 2016, in the Civil Park Patrol Unit. He also worked for the Buffalo Block Company and later Anchor Block Company.

Frederic enjoyed wood working, family ancestry, and feeding his birds. He was very active in his church.

Frederic passed away at his home in Montrose, on July 18, 2019, at the age of 78 years.

He is survived by his children, John (Son Hui) Reimer, Julie (Randy) Latzig, Jody (Jim) Churchill, Jennifer (Rob) Bliven, Jeff (Charlotte) Reimer; step-children, Lori Schmidt, Rick Anderson, Lisa Anderson, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Frederic was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie, brother Phillip Reimer, and sister Linda Zabel.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 23, from 5-7 p.m., with 7:00 p.m. prayer at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake. Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Maple Lake, with visitation one hour prior to the service at church.

Darlene Westrud, 74

Darlene C. Westrud, age 74, of Maple Lake, died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society of Howard Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. Andrew Stueve as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Chatham Township. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Sunday, August 4 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. on August 5 at the funeral chapel.

Darlene Catherine Westrud was born June 10, 1945, at the St. Cloud Hospital to Leander and Mary Ellen (Daily) Blake. She graduated from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1963. On April 4, 1964, she was united in marriage to Harland Westrud at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. In addition to caring for her family, Darlene provided daycare in her home. She worked in the deli at Roger’s Amoco for many years. Darlene enjoyed music, traveling, animals, especially dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Kimberly (Jim) Zumbusch of Maple Lake, Jeffrey (Jessica) Westrud of Rockford and Allyson (Gary) Dressel of Winsted; six grandchildren, Emily, Faith, Nathan and Clare Dressel, Jacob and Karsyn Zumbusch; brother, Tim (Jackie) Blake of Maple Lake; sister, Diane (Steve) Heinsch of New Hope; and sister-in-law, MaryAnn Blake of South Saint Paul. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Don and Tom Blake.

Krista Elsenpeter and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service.
