The City of Delano hosted its annual Independence Day parade on Thursday, July 4. People packed and lined the streets to get a view of the 116 floats that made their way along River Street and meandered through downtown, led by Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer and members of the Delano American Legion who carried the Stars and Stripes through the city.
The carnival was in full swing, filled with games and rides that were a hit for both kids and adults alike. Food trucks and vendors sold a variety of yummy dishes and treats, as people lined up to try the sweet and savory items on hand.
On Friday, July 5, professional wrestlers took to the air and body slammed opponents in the ring, as MIW Professional Wrestling performers delighted crowds at the main stage under the big top in central park. An art show took place along 3rd Street near the south gate, which drew the attention of those in attendance.
Other events in Delano included baseball, softball, and pickleball tournaments, a 5K road race, bean bag tournament, along with a craft beer and wine tasting event.
The City of Annandale celebrated with a variety of activities and events. Highlights included a parade, carnival, bingo, coronation of new Annandale Ambassadors, and live music performances. Fireworks lit up the night sky at Municipal Park on the night of 4th.
Whether folks enjoyed the annual boat parade on Lake Pulaski in Buffalo, fired up the grill and hung out with family and friends for a traditional backyard barbecue, or took to the many area beaches and parks, those who came to Wright County to celebrate July 4th had plenty of summertime fun and memorable moments.
